KEARNEY

Annual country retreat to bring together employees to celebrate and reward their hard work

Venue search. Agenda development. Project management. Live delivery.

Who.

Kearney (formerly AT Kearney) is a top ranking global consulting firm. Powwow have been an event partner to the London office since 2003.

What.

Following on from two successful Kearney ReTreats, Powwow were tasked with creating a bigger and better version for 2023. The ReTreat is designed to recognise the dedication of the team and offered as a thank you for the hard work put in over the last year.

Each event is designed around a variety of activities, with the morning being a chance for the entire team to compete against one another in a full group challenge. The afternoon brings more individual choice, with colleagues being able to choose from a mix of activities that suit their interests. We top the day off with a drinks reception in the sun (if the English weather permits) and a party which runs into the small hours.

How.

Powwow provided full project management for Kearney, with only delegate management being held internally by the client team.

The first milestone was finding the right venue for the event. Which this year brought some challenges; as we needed a date in April quite last minute and were looking to accommodate up to 170pax in a country style hotel with accommodation, plenty of space for a mix of sessions and less than 1 hour from London. We whittled the search down and confirmed Ashridge House for 2023, which was once a royal residence of King Henry VIII.

After the venue was secured, we moved straight into agenda development. Working with the internal planning team at Kearney, we stepped through the day to ensure we had plenty of time for cohesive experiences, whilst also allowing for individualism and connections to be made.

The day began with everyone travelling out to Ashridge House and kicked the day off with a group activity to promote team working and bonding. This time we went back to an activity we had tried and tested before; an iPad treasure hunt around the grounds.

This was followed by an afternoon of bespoke sessions. Within Ashridge House, we hosted a variety of workshops such as a Gong Bath, a Mindful Chocolate Experience, Yoga Boxing and a Historical Tour of Ashridge House. For those who wanted to be a little more physical in the outdoors, we brought in the Bear Grylls Survival Academy to put them to the test.

The whole day was rounded off with a BBQ on the terrace in the beautiful English sunshine moving inside to a late night silent disco with photobooth.

“These events are always successful, but they just seem to get better and better the more we do and so much of that, if not all of that is down to your ideas, impeccable organisation, professional hosting skills and wonderful attitude and smiles. You are an absolute pleasure to work with.”
